About Harriet — teacher to tutor
From Year 1 teacher to 100 children a week and a garden teaching room
I taught primary school for five years across different year groups. I loved teaching. I hated the environment — the behaviour incidents with no leadership support, the data targets that had nothing to do with the children in front of me, the part-time contract I worked full-time hours for.
When I went on maternity leave I made a decision. I wasn't going back. I built my tutoring business from my kitchen table with two or three children sitting with me while my baby slept. Four months later I had 60 children on my books. I paid my maternity pay back to school and never set foot in a classroom again.
Everything I learned in that first year is now inside The Ultimate Teacher Exit Plan.

Now I have 100 children per week, four employed qualified teachers and a purpose-built garden teaching room. I earn more than I did teaching on M6. I pay more into my pension. I take holidays outside of term time when I want to, not when school tells me I can. I genuinely love Mondays.
The Ultimate Teacher Exit Plan is the course I wish had existed when I was sitting at my kitchen table wondering if this was actually possible. It is.
